Home UI — smart-home dashboard
A resident dashboard for a smart-home management system built on Wiren Board controllers: lighting, security, sensors and automation scripts in one interface.
Context
RDI Group is a major Russian property developer that integrated smart-home systems into its residential buildings, with Wiren Board controllers at the core. Residents needed a convenient personal dashboard to manage all devices in their apartment through a browser or phone.
Problem
A single user interface for full smart-home control: switching lights on and off, arming security, viewing readings from any indicator or sensor.
Architecture
A web application (resident personal account) tied to a specific residential property; communicates with the on-site Wiren Board controller via API; automation scripts are managed from the same interface. Developed in parallel with the developer’s broader software platform.
Integrations
Wiren Board automation controllers; building engineering systems (lighting, security sensors, utility meters).
Results
The pilot went live in 2012; version 3 has been in production since 2013 as part of the RDI ecosystem. Residents gained full smart-home control with no specialised hardware on the user side.
